The hot topic of the moment is the election. See the Candidate page (left side of this page) for related information. Please vote for the candidate that best represents your values and beliefs on April 3, 2012. Your vote is important, it will shape the future of our community.
We think the hotest and most significant topics at the moment are Taxes and Budget (several updates), Sewer and Water (one published letter to the editor but the bigger issue is why some elected officials don't want ---you--- to have the ability to vote to decide this topic), and concerning conduct (many updates) including publishing of Gil Franks Open Records Requests. These are all available through our "Issues" link on the left side of this screen.
EMAIL Updates
If you're here and haven't signed up for email updates, we hope you'll consider signing up for email updates. You can sign up by viewing the "Email Sign up" link on the left side of this page and following those instructions. In the event you do, and change your mind later, a simple reply or email with "remove" in the subject will result in your email address being immediately removed from our distribution list.
If you have signed up for email updates and are not receiving them, we suggest you check your spam folder. If we ended up there, follow your email account procedures to recognize us as safe, or trusted (whatever is the process for your email account). We do not send attachments in our emails. We only reference our website in our email.
Our goal is to provide you with as much information as possible. We believe that you will discard the emotional statements and will look at the facts. Our only agenda is to provide you with information so you may get informed, stay informed, and vote informed.
Site Navigation
In most cases you will see this same page structure. All the major links to navigate on this site will be on the left side of your screen as it is here. If you have gone to a .PDF formated page, click the back arrow in your browser to return to the original page.
If this is your first visit to our website, please take a few moments to view the "About Us, Mission Statement, Strategy and Tactics" on the left side of this page. That information will give you a good understanding of who we are and what we are trying to achieve.
Please review the Issues section as well. The Issues contains the substance of what we are attempting to address.
It's important to note that "Issues" may impact all of the Village of Richfield constituents and beyond, and many address very "neighborhood" or "local" issues within Richfield. Many local issues have found their way to this website because the local residents that are being directly affected have convinced our group that their concerns or objections have not received adequate consideration. People may not remember what you did, but remember how you made them feel.
If you have an "Issue" that is not posted in our Issues section, please consider contacting us and presenting your "Issue" to the group.
If you feel it appropriate, please join us and contribute to our quest for success.
We do not have any political affiliation. We simply believe that the Village of Richfield administration, in it's broadest intrepretation, should be representing the best interests of their constituents, as their constituents define it.
Over time we have supported different candidates because we believe they individually best represent the interests of Richfield taxpayers. We have interviewed more candidates than we have supported. We seek out candidates. Candidates seek us out. No candidate we have ever supported is beholding to the group in any way, nor is the group beholding to any candidate in any way. We are simply a group of people that believes we can have, and should have, better local government. If you examine our website, you'll see that we publish all related material we encounter. You'll see that we continuously invite opposing opinions. We're confident about what we do, our mission, and our intent. We believe you will find enough information here to confirm that for yourself. Elected officials should not operate without being watched. If we don't provide opposing, challenging opinions, who will? We believe enough information is provided through our group to give viewers cause for concern. We're self-funded, work tirelessly to give you information, and are confident that most viewers will see us that way.
Because we hire them through our votes and pay them through our taxes, it seems to us that they should be listening to us first, with the greatest empathy and support possible. If you feel that you are receiving this, then that's great. If not, please let us know.
